According to the database of the Hargita County Court, the Dutch-registered Lixid Holding BV initiated the proceedings on December 27 against Lixid Project Kft. from Csíkszentsimons - the latter produces Igazi Csíki Beer.

The first hearing in the case is scheduled for February 28, reports 24.hu.

The brewery in Székelyföld, which has been fighting with Heineken for a long time, has two owners, half-and-half:

In addition to András Lénárd, there is a company registered in the Netherlands, Lixid Holding BV. There have been many speculations about the latter, but in an interview published in 2017, Róbert Spisák from Slovakia said that the Dutch-registered company is owned by Slovakian AZC.as, and he is the president of the latter.

According to the court documents, the Dutch company initiated bankruptcy proceedings due to insolvency.

According to 24.hu data, Lixid Project Kft. had a loss of 4,432,999 lei in 2022 with a turnover of 30.6 million lei.

By the way, traffic increased by barely 6 percent compared to a year ago. Data for 2023 are not yet available.

The company has been losing money continuously for four years, and since 2020 the number of its employees has also been decreasing - in the last report, there are only 117 people. What is really a big problem, writes 24.hu, is that the company has three times as much debt as its annual turnover. The debt stock was 94.1 million lei at the end of 2022, but this has been increasing since the company was founded, it increased by 7 percent in the last year, while the turnover only increased by six.

Csíki Sör responded to the news in a short e-mail to Transtelex, as it is written,

Relax! We are not bankrupt! Details later!
