The Medical Imaging Clinic of Semmelweis University has been expanded with a detection monitor and a mammography workstation; the donation of the Mészáros Group's Pro Filii Foundation was handed over on Thursday. In the past two years, two billion forints were spent through tenders to support private individuals and civil organizations.

Pál Maurovich Horvat, president and clinic director of the clinic's Foundation for Modern Medical Imaging, said that today imaging diagnostics is of fundamental importance in modern medicine, without which there is no early disease identification and no personalized therapy. This is also true for breast cancer diagnosis, since approximately one in seven women is affected by breast cancer.

However, with early recognition of the change, the disease can be treated well, he added, pointing out that regular mammography screening is essential for this.

As he said

with the support received from the foundation, they were able to further expand the equipment park of the mammography department, so even more patients can have access to state-of-the-art technology and the development also contributes to reducing waiting lists.

Krisztina Tóth, secretary general of the Pro Filii Foundation, said that as the largest charitable organization of the Mészáros Group

in the last two years, two billion forints were spent through tenders to support private individuals and civil organizations.

Of this, HUF 250 million is the value of the donations when they supported civil organizations that help the work of a medical institution, he added.

The foundation supported the expansion of the mammography workstation with HUF ten million - explained Krisztina Tóth, stressing that she trusts that the corporate group can indirectly contribute to the even more modern implementation of screening tests and improve patients' chances of recovery.

"As the largest Hungarian-owned corporate group, it is our duty and responsibility to support the work of all those who benefit our community," said the secretary general of the foundation.
