A young girl was sexually harassed by a man at the HÉV stop in Kerepes on Sunday. The girl's father got into a fight with the attacker and cut his throat. The man suffered serious injuries. The police are also investigating life-threatening bodily harm and disorderly conduct.
Three men harassed a young girl at the HÉV bus stop in Kerepes on Sunday. Frightened, the girl called her father, who attacked one of the bullies with a knife and cut his throat. The young girl who was attacked previously also spoke about the attack, and now the father told RTL about what happened.
The father said his daughter called him crying and was still sobbing when they met at the station.
He then stopped the party and told them to wait for the police and then blamed them for what had happened.
But according to his statement, he was attacked at that very moment, and then a fight began. According to the father, he was constantly threatened, and finally, as he said, he saw no other solution, took out a wallpaper cutter and wounded one of the men on the neck.
According to the lawyer interviewed by RTL, it may arise that the father legitimately defended himself and his daughter.
If the unknown assailants initiate the action against the father as well, then in theory legitimate defense may arise for the protection of himself and his daughter
said the lawyer.
The father said he was not sorry for what he had done and would protect his child again if he had to, and that he would bear the consequences of his actions. The father was detained on Sunday, but released the next day. Proceedings were initiated against him for life-threatening bodily harm. Police are also investigating for disorderly conduct.
László Gyuricza, the mayor of Kerepes, also reported on the incident on his Facebook page, and the girl wrote a desperate comment under the post:
"We are sitting at the police station, we don't know what will happen, I don't want my father to go to prison because he protected me. I am asking the dear mayor László Gyuricza and everyone to ensure that this does not happen to another young woman/girl, especially in broad daylight. And please don't drag my father away."
The girl's concern is justified, since
his father could be imprisoned for a long time due to life-threatening bodily harm.
As dr. Lawyer Antoni Péter said that the act is punishable by two to eight years in prison, however, the court has the option to take into account the fact that the man was protecting his family member while the crime was being committed as a mitigating circumstance.
