The Tenkes Orchestra from Pécs regularly gives concerts in Hungarian dance halls in Croatia. Such an event was organized for the first time in the Hungarian community of fiume.

The HMDK Tengermelléki-Fennsíki County Association and the scholarship recipients of the Petőfi Sándor Program from Daruvár, Fiume (Rijek) and Lendva jointly organized a concert and dance hall featuring Hungarian folk music and folk instruments on Saturday in the Anna-villa in Fiume, Képesújság wrote. As can be read , such programs were initially organized in the Hungarian settlements of Horvát-Baranya and Eastern Slavonia, and thanks to the support of the Sándor Csoóri Program, this season the scattered people were also included in the project.

Such an event was organized for the first time in the Hungarian community of fiume. The ensemble played the most diverse instruments of folk music, presenting the characteristic sound world of the great landscapes of the Carpathian Basin. After that, they held a dance hall in Somogy.

Since 2018, the Pécs Tenkes Orchestra has been holding dance halls in the Hungarian communities in Croatia. In the beginning, dance hall events were organized in the Hungarian settlements of Croatian-Baranya and Eastern Slavonia under the title Baranya to Baranya - the name refers to the connection of the communities of Baranya in Hungary and Croatia with cultural "tools".

Thanks to the support of the Sándor Csoóri Program, it was possible to include the scattered Hungarians of Croatia in the dance hall program this season. This opened up an opportunity for the dance hall events of the Tenkes Orchestra to reach Daruvár and Fiume, as well as later on to other settlements in Croatia.

For the first time, such an event was organized in the Hungarian community of Fiume: the orchestra played the most diverse instruments and ensembles of Hungarian folk music, presenting the typical soundscape of the Carpathian Basin. Afterwards, a dance hall was held, where the audience could learn Somogyi dances.

Representatives of several ethnic communities in Fiume also took part in the event. In addition to the Italians and Crna Goras, the leaders of the Macedonian folk dance group from Fiume were also present.

Enthusiastic members of the local community contributed to the good atmosphere of the carnival dance hall by baking donuts.
