About the movie The Island of Good Hope
During the pandemic, the main character decides to go into voluntary quarantine on a tiny uninhabited island on Lake Tisza. There is a small hut on the island that he built with his father years before, but they couldn't finish their dream because the father died in the meantime.
The boy wants to break free from the squirrel wheel, he wants to face himself, so he returns to the island after seven years.
However, after what seems like an adventure, he is soon tested by loneliness, which highlights his weaknesses and fears. The wonderful nature, the healing power of the Tisza, the nomadic life and the old teachings of his father slowly change his values.
He understands what is really important in life and what is not.
The Island of Hope is a story based on real events about the power of loneliness, perseverance, dreams, retreating into nature, father-son relationship and letting go.
