The largest teacher pay increase ever will continue next year with another 21 percent increase.
The 32.2 percent increase in wages for teachers and kindergarten teachers in private and church schools and kindergartens is the same as in state institutions, the Ministry of the Interior announced on Monday in a statement signed by State Secretary Bence Rétvári.
According to the communique, the HUF 340 billion teacher salary increase fund includes not only salary increases for employees of state institutions, but also for those working at municipal, church and private providers.
Therefore, a teacher teaching in a foundation school is entitled to the same increase as in a school district.
Rétvári emphasized that all children are equally important to the government, which is why the teachers of church and private institutions receive the same salary increase.
At the very beginning of February, the state transferred a 32.2 percent increase in wages to all non-state operators receiving normative public funding, which is already being distributed and allocated by operators and private institutions, and the allocated fund must be used entirely for wage increases, the announcement reads.
Rétvári pointed out that the teacher salary increase fund currently only has Hungarian budgetary resources, the EU resources have not yet arrived.
The average salary of teachers in state-run schools rose to HUF 652,530, and the principal's salary rose to HUF 1,018,403 on average thanks to the government measure. In the school district institutions, the average salary of trainees and beginning teachers was HUF 561,100, for those in the first grade of teaching, HUF 601,992, and for those in the second grade of teaching. degree holders HUF 679,135, master pedagogues HUF 869,007, and research teachers HUF 911,284. In addition, in addition to the basic salary, the amount of allowances and commission fees also increased.
Bence Rétvári also announced that the wages of teachers in the gap year increased by an additional 4 percent, and also by 2 percent in the evening of the MA degree. Those teachers who teach classes in disadvantaged areas receive an additional allowance of 20 percent.
The government's priority goal is to increase the respect of teachers and kindergarten teachers, so that children can study in quality schools, the state secretary pointed out, adding: the largest ever teacher salary increase will therefore continue next year with another 21 percent increase.
