Gábor Czakó, writer, linguist, Artist of the Nation, a great figure of Hungarian Christian, conservative and right-wing thought, died at the age of 82. Writer and linguist Gábor Czakó was born in 1942 in Dec, Tolna County. His father disappeared in 1943 during the battle on the Don. In 1960, he graduated from Szekszárd and then obtained a law degree at the Pécs University of Law.

After his studies, he worked as a lawyer and

he created both in the field of fiction and fine arts.

Among other things, he was the editor of Mozgó Világ between 1978 and 1983, and then became the editor of Magyar Szemle in the nineties.

He has written numerous novels (Emberkert, Megvolí, Chronicle of Várkonyi), plays, sociographies; as well as a series of volumes of essays (Initiation series). The latter also spawned a series of television essays.

He was a well-known author and opinion leader in the Hungarian conservative, right-wing press.

we have been able to meet Gábor Czakó over the past decades, from the columns of newspapers to a series of public meetings. He was also a member of the advisory board of the writer József Antall in the early nineties.

Over the years, he has been awarded the Kossuth Award, the Prima Award, the Middle Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit with the star order, and in 2019 the Artist of the Nation award.

He and his wife Éva Simon raised six children and had sixteen grandchildren.
