The uncrowned queen is 39 years old, has two children and is not even German.

This year's Miss Germany beauty pageant was held this weekend in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, in the Europa-Park, where 15,000 women took part. The winner was an architect with a Berlin address but of Iranian origin.

The Miss Germany competition used to take place with bikini parades on the catwalk, but over time a change of image followed. Since 2019, the personality of the contestants and their ability to take responsibility have been important, as well as their ability to appear as role models. The winner no longer receives a crown, only a shoulder strap.

The winner of the beauty contest, 39-year-old Apameh Schönauer, received the Female Leader Award, which carries a cash prize of 25,000 euros.

The winner of the German beauty pageant was born in Tehran and came to Germany at the age of six. At the event, the mother of two emphasized her commitment to women's rights, especially in Iran.

Schönauer wrote on the organizer's website that she supports disadvantaged and oppressed women through the Shirzan network (Löwenfrau). His motto when faced with obstacles: Just keep going!

In the beauty pageant, the previous age limit of 39 years no longer applies from this year, and this is already visible in the rankings, as the oldest finalist was 42-year-old Mignon Kowollik from Hamburg.

The finalists of the beauty pageant did not include the personalities usual in traditional beauty queen elections: 31-year-old Tamara Schwab from Roth, Bavaria, has, by her own admission, been living with a donor heart for two and a half years. Christina Modrzejewski, 28, from Dinslaken, Germany, is struggling with serious health challenges: she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease in 2021. The qualified nurse needs a wheelchair and electronic orthoses.

Last year, then 20-year-old, edgy-looking Kira Geiss from the Ravensburg area became Miss Germany.

At that time, he applied for the competition in order to give a voice to the younger generation. Since then, he has been active in the church and founded a youth church in Magdeburg. According to her, Miss Germany is no longer a beauty pageant.
