According to the church leader, Tamás Sulyok will be able to rally Hungarian society around traditional values.

Patriarch Kirill congratulated Tamás Sulyok on his election as the President of the Hungarian Republic, reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta. In the letter addressed to the president, it is stated that the Hungarian Parliament's decision was an expression of confidence in him as a specialist in constitutional law and state building.

- wrote the church leader, who also reminded that the two peoples are connected by the Christian heritage, which had a decisive influence on the cultures.

He added: the Budapest and Hungarian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church contributes to the strengthening of social harmony and the development of spiritual relations between the citizens of the two states.
