Russia does not pose a threat to those states from which it is not threatened, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's fears in this regard are groundless, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

"We do not agree with Mr. Orbán on everything, Russia does not represent any danger - contrary to what is now being repeated with enviable constancy in the European Union - for any state that is not hostile to Russia, that does not try to become anti-Russia, so the fears about this are groundless"

- said Peszkov, commenting on the Hungarian prime minister's statement that Hungary does not want a common border with Russia.

Peskov emphasized that Russia is trying to provide security "for itself and its children".

After the V4 summit on Tuesday, Viktor Orbán announced that there is one more special factor from Hungary's point of view, namely that Hungary does not want a common border with Russia again, because it has had bad experiences with this in the past.

"One of the most important foundations of Hungarian national security is to have an entity to the east of us that is located between Russia and Hungary. Therefore, we also help Ukraine because of Hungarian national interests" -

emphasized the prime minister.
