The participants of the panel discussion on conservative education at the Budapest education summit organized by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium expressed their pessimism. During the exchange of ideas, it was said that a historic cathedral in England already has a disco, because it can attract young people there. They also talked about the fact that the elite schools in America have fully embraced the woke ideology, there are places where drag queens are shown in church institutions. Although the media and the zeitgeist are against the conservatives, the way out can be found in putting on the gloves and resisting, Magyar Nemzet .

"Conservative education is about introducing children to the world and knowledge accumulated by people born before them."

Joanna Williams, the director of Cieo, an independent British think tank made up of academics and writers, declared at one of the panel discussions at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) educational summit in Budapest. The director's opinion of Western education systems is very depressing, and as things stand now, he is not at all optimistic, but not because of the children, but because of the civilization that surrounds us.

His daughter visited Canterbury Cathedral two weeks ago, but she didn't go there to pray or admire the architectural masterpiece, but to go to the disco, as that brings in income. 

It can be argued that this is necessary, and that they can maintain the building from this, and thus attract young people to the cathedral. According to the director's interpretation

in doing so, the people whose job it is to preserve the heritage and culture have admitted that they have lost, as they have no religious, historical or aesthetic arguments.

Nicholas Tate, the author of the book The Conservative School, talked about how, around 2021, the headmaster of England's oldest school announced in the middle of the Black Lives Matter movement that he would revise the school's curriculum because of the death of someone who, 6,500 kilometers away, another died on the mainland.

He recalled that he spent a week at a prestigious school in California, which was completely transformed into a wake, and where Prince Harry and his wife will probably send their children.

They completely flipped the curriculum, making it anti-American and anti-capitalist, and now it's based on critical race theory, forcing people to define their identities based on their sexuality and gender. 

The richest people in Hollywood are trained here, who in most cases have accepted this transformation. And a Manhattan church school introduced gender-neutral expressions, and a drag queen was invited to a performance for students, which was held in the school's chapel. Fortunately, there are school boards that stand up to this nonsense, but the media and the zeitgeist are working against conservatives, said Nicholas Tate.

Frank Füredi, head of MCC's Brussels center, confirmed what Tate said about the zeitgeist, that the media is very powerful against them, and that makes it difficult to create isolated spaces for really deep learning.

The situation in Hungary and Central Europe is not very hopeful either, because these countries cannot be placed under quarantine, which would protect young people here from cultural influences such as Music TV and Netflix. According to him, the current educational trend is rooted in the present, it has completely abandoned the past, and therefore cannot face the future.

It is important for conservatives to realize that they need to go out, debate and fight the prejudices spread about them.
