A recent research revealed that the roads in Romania are the most dangerous in Europe.
In Europe, the most dangerous roads for drivers are in Romania, followed by Serbia and Bulgaria on the negative list. Norway can boast the safest roads, according to the research of the specialist portal Vignetteswitzerland.com, which analyzes the latest data from the European Road Safety Council, taking into account the number of fatal road accidents per 1 million inhabitants.
Two years ago, in 2022, there were 85.81 road accident deaths per 1 million inhabitants in Romania, G4Media . It is somewhat encouraging that there is at least a noticeable decrease, the indicator improved by 10.26 percent compared to 2012, when there were 95.62 deaths per 1 million inhabitants.
Serbia is in second place with 82.65 deaths per 1 million inhabitants, a decrease of 13.01 percent compared to 2012. Bulgaria is in third place, with 77.64 deaths per 1 million inhabitants, but there is only a small decrease compared to 2012 - only 6.02 percent.
The study also reveals that Norway's roads are the safest in Europe.
In 2022, there were only 21.38 road accident deaths per 1 million inhabitants in the country, an overall decrease of 26.48 percent compared to 2012, when there were 29.08 deaths.
Sweden ranks second for safety with 21.72 deaths per million and a 27.74 percent decrease, followed by the United Kingdom - third with 25.89 deaths and a 9.5 percent decrease.
