Events await families in many parts of the capital.
Zoltán Kovács, the Secretary of State responsible for international communication and relations of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office, wrote on his social media page: this year, the central programs of the national holiday will begin on March 14, when the Kossuth and Széchenyi awards will be presented in the Parliament.
On the day of the holiday, March 15, at 9:00 a.m., according to custom, the Hungarian flag will be raised on Kossuth Lajos Square. After that, a ceremonial procession will start to the Hungarian National Museum, where a ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m., during which Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will deliver a speech, he explained.
Zoltán Kovács reported that on March 15th from 2 p.m., and then on the 16th and 17th all day long, families will be welcomed with programs related to the national holiday at the Hungarian National Museum.
As part of the open Parliament program, those interested can view the Holy Crown for free in the Parliament on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Zoltán Kovács also announced that on the day of the national holiday, as well as on the 16th and 17th from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., the facade of the Hungarian National Museum building will be decorated with light painting.
