Civil organizations operating in Hungary based on foreign interests and with foreign resources observe domestic politicians and private individuals. Their goal is to "hunt down" Hungarian people and politicians, said Mr. Zoltán Lomnici, spokesperson of CÖF–CÖKA, at the organization's press conference today.

As he said, they came to the conclusion that the activities of non-governmental organizations financed from abroad - including TASZ, the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, Transparency International and Amnesty International - must be continuously investigated, therefore CÖF-CÖKA is bringing a working group created and any information they can make available will be sent to the competent bodies, including the Sovereignty Protection Office.

- The sole purpose of CÖF-CÖKA is to create transparent and transparent relations and, taking into account the practice of Western European countries, to eliminate the possibility of violating the Hungarian election system with sources from abroad

stated jr. Zoltán Lomnici.

He indicated that the package of laws on the protection of sovereignty makes it clear that, in certain cases, whoever channels foreign resources into Hungarian election campaigns already commits a crime. He stated that for this very reason, as Hungarians and as civilians, it is their duty to protect their compatriots from a possible violation of the law, even in a preventive manner.

Máté Tordai, the specialist coordinator of CÖF-CÖKA, said that the organization is contacting the Transparent Portal with a request for data, as it has arisen that the site may carry out investigative work for foreign interests.

- Declare whether they have continued investigative work against Hungarian organizations from foreign sources

he recorded.

They are also waiting for an answer on how much foreign money came to Átlátszó in 2023 and how much foreign currency was held by atlatszo.hu non-profit Kft. and Átlátszónet Alapítvány at the end of last year. CÖF-CÖKA is also waiting for an answer as to whether foreign funds will arrive by the day of the European Parliament and municipal elections.

- The information will be evaluated immediately after receiving the answers, given that clarifying these questions as soon as possible is also of utmost importance from the point of view of protecting the sovereignty of our country

Máté Tordai added.

He indicated that, due to the recent attempts at intervention affecting the internal affairs of our country, he started fact-finding work regarding the NGOs - non-governmental civil organizations - operating in Hungary and receiving significant foreign funds, based on the official documents published by the NGOs. This was done for the first time in the case of atlatszo.hu Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. and Átlátszónet Alapítvány.

It was found that atlatszo.hu already makes its international connections of a material nature clear on its portal, when it describes the circle of its current and former institutional supporters. Among them are the Open Society Foundations founded by György Soros, as well as the Zinc Network, the Sigrid Rausing Trust, the Journalism Development Network and many other foreign NGOs, which he also supports. According to the annual reports, since 2016, atlatszo.hu Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. has accepted a total of 450,647 dollars, 180,000 British pounds and more than 91 million forints from foreign NGOs.

- Meanwhile, the Átlátszónet Foundation received a $240,000 grant from the Open Society Institute, from which, among other things, it financed the activities of atlatszo.hu Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft.

he listed.

As it turned out, according to the 2022 report of atlatszo.hu Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft., it had 123,000 dollars and 58,000 euros in its bank account, while the Átlátszónet Foundation had 220,000 dollars and 1,000 euros in deposits at the end of the period. - In other words, it can be stated that Átlástzó continues its investigative work along the lines of considerable foreign money. It is also important to note that the international supporters can be linked to Action for Democracy, a foundation close to the CIA, which took a leading role in the 2022 campaign financing scandal of the Hungarian left, he pointed out.
