Tamás Sulyok commutes to Budapest from the first floor of an apartment building in Szeged.
It seems that the newly elected President of the Republic has not yet given up his Szeged property. Tamás Sulyok - in an almost unprecedented way - commutes from the southern ends to Budapest. At the same time, he has already changed cars and bodyguards. While the local police previously handled the protection of his property, now the bodyguards of the Anti-Terrorism Center are responsible for security, and they also provide him with his company car.
- When he was appointed president of the Constitutional Court, he didn't give up his condominium apartment here either. Look, the head of state still lives upstairs - Tibor, who lives nearby, readily showed the journalists.
As he said, even then the home of the head of the judiciary was heavily guarded, and police officers could often be seen in front of the house.
– In 2018, a crime was committed, someone broke into the lavish 117 square meter home of the Chief Justice. It is not known what he looted, because the police only confirmed the address at which the search took place. But from then on, the uniformed people were even more present - the man continued.
They often saw his official car, which he used to drive to the capital in the morning. As you know, now the TEK security personnel perform the insurance of the property less conspicuously.
An employee of a nearby store confirmed that the head of state lives in the house across the street: "I used to see him often, he used to pop in here to shop. He is a very direct person, you could always have a few words with him, he had a few sentences even on the simplest topics," said the young colleague.
Incidentally, the name of Tamás Sulyok is on the doorbell of the marked house, which can probably be said of few former and current state leaders.
A person with an indirect relationship with the family, on the other hand, just said that this will not stay like this for long:
- We heard that Tamás Sulyok's wife has already spoken about the fact that they were offered to move to the residence of the head of state on Béla király út. They say it's a beautiful building. And although the couple has II. has a nice property in the district, they are very much looking forward to the residents of the state base with a wonderful reputation - the newspaper's informant revealed.
However, it is currently occupied by Katalin Novák, and it is likely to remain so for weeks to come.
From the day of his appointment, Tamás Sulyok has full bodyguard insurance from TEK, which is the same as that of the Prime Minister. In other words, in addition to the permanent bodyguards in civilian clothes, the service car of the appropriate level also has bodyguards, a lead-up vehicle, and a camera and access control system in protected properties. In the future, the locations where programs are organized for the head of state, as well as those external persons who may be in his immediate vicinity, will also be checked in advance.
As president of the Constitutional Court, Tamás Sulyok was obliged to declare his assets every year. In the document submitted this year, there are five properties of which he is at least partially the owner.
There is the aforementioned 117 square meter apartment in Szeged, and a 45 square meter office. According to the document, he is the owner of a holiday farm in Domaszék, half of a 90-square-meter family house in Balatonkenes, and he owns a 72-square-meter, II. in a district Budapest apartment. He reported several types of savings, with a total of HUF 65 million.
