The sports director of the RB Leipzig football team, Rouven Schröder, made a radical statement in a Bild podcast: one of the goalkeepers Péter Gulácsi, Janis Blaswich and Maarten Vandevoordt must leave the club in the summer.
"It will be an exciting decision." This trio will not work beyond the summer - sports director Rouven Schröder stated about the "race" of goalkeepers Péter Gulácsi, Janis Blaswich and Maarten Vandevoordt, which of them can stay with the RB Leipzig team. Schröder added: economic aspects are also taken into account in the decision and the payments. It is conceivable that the person they are saying goodbye to is not saying goodbye for good, but lending it to them.
Recovering from a serious injury, 33-year-old Péter Gulácsi took back the number one goalkeeper position from Blaswich, who replaced the Hungarian netminder well. He was also invited to the German national team, but his performance later declined. The 22-year-old Belgian Vandevoordt is currently defending in the Genk team, but he has already signed for Leipzig, and according to experts, the club sees the future in him.
Gulácsi is really preparing for the European Championships
Regarding Gulácsi, who signed with Leipzig until 2025, it was noted in the podcast: the Hungarian national team goalkeeper decided to stay after his injury, to try to fight for his place in order to be considered for the summer European Championship, so currently the 32-year-old Blaswich has the best chance of leaving .
