Dávid Vitézy announced on his Facebook page According to the traffic specialist, the war between the two political sides permeates everything in the capital at the moment, but instead of party political battles, real urban development is finally needed, which is why he is running for mayor. Gergely Karácsony immediately reacted to the announcement of Vitézy's departure, "Free Budapest welcomes refugees and defeats invaders," the mayor said.

According to Vitézy, Budapest currently faces five serious problems:

  1. There are not enough affordable apartments and subletting is expensive.
  2. Public transport from the outer districts and the agglomeration is not good enough, that's why there are so many traffic jams and that's why the air is bad
  3. The quality of health care is getting worse and worse, our hospitals are outdated and run down, there is a lot of waiting time, and entire departments are closing due to lack of staff.
  4. Our public spaces are not homey enough, there are not enough green areas and pedestrian streets.
  5. Budapest beyond the boulevard, where three-quarters of Budapest residents live, has been left alone, all development resources go to the tourist city center.

Vitézy emphasized that he has specific plans for the development of the city. According to him, there is a need for new parks and public spaces, the renewal of railways and railways, the development of new tram lines, and the construction of affordable housing in the places of rust zones.

We cannot expect solutions to Budapest's problems from those who caused our problems. We don't have another five years for that

- said the former head of BKK, according to the Mandiner press review.

Karácsony immediately reacted to Vitézy's departure

Gergely Karácsony immediately reacted to the news on his Facebook page . As he wrote, "after my election as mayor, I asked Dávid Vitézy for a professional assignment. He said he couldn't take it because Viktor Orbán wouldn't let him, and he didn't want to be a soldier who flees from North Korea to South Korea, only to be shot from behind by his men.

They were not allowed to do professional tasks, now they are sending them to political ones. Never mind. Free Budapest welcomes refugees and defeats invaders"

- said Karácsony.
