"I hope that my ex-husband's thoughtless and manipulative statements will not force me to go public with the wounds," the former justice minister wrote to 444.
When asked about the Soros blog, Judit Varga gave the following answer:
"Dear Balázs Kaufmann! Thank you very much for the opportunity, but I'd rather not take it. On the one hand, because I have already retired from public life, and the evaluation of any public topic - even the astonishing, deceptive rampage of my ex-husband, who has meanwhile become a left-wing politician - would put me back into the political field, which I wish to avoid; on the other hand,
my previous marriage caused so much pain, sorrow and humiliation that I specifically refrain from discussing the topic of my private life.
I hope that my ex-husband's thoughtless and manipulative statements will not force me to open up the wounds in the future. Thanking you for your understanding, I remain respectfully: Judit Varga"
Péter Magyar, Judit Varga's ex-husband, wrote on his page on Sunday evening that he will be accused of domestic violence due to a fight in December 2020. A police report was also drawn up about this dispute, in which, according to Péter Magyar, it is stated that he acted violently towards his wife and the state bodyguards who were protecting him at the time.
"After a fight, my ex-wife announced that she would take our joint children to a time and place unknown to me, which I did not want to agree to. And instead of us being able to settle this face-to-face like grown-ups, state bodyguards were involved in the process, and they specifically prevented me from going to my children."
Magyar wrote about the case.
According to him, "most of the content of the report made on this matter consists of false and fictitious elements". After her post appeared, Judit Varga broke her silence since her resignation and shared a video about relationship violence , to which she wrote:
"There is always a way out."
The next day, HVG wrote some details of the police report that Péter Magyar referred to in his Sunday evening Facebook post. According to the article, this document was created at the end of 2020, a few weeks before it was published on the front page of Blikk, ending the marriage of Minister Judit Varga and the head of the Student Loan Center, Péter Magyar, which both parties then denied. Only two years later did they announce that their marriage was over. The report describes a violent, passionate quarrel, the document does not mention any crime, as far as the authors of the article are aware, no proceedings have been initiated in the case.
