The injury does not prevent the 89-year-old Kossuth Prize-winning actor from working.

Although the Actor of the Nation will not be ninety years old until April 15, he was greeted in advance on Saturday, the Night of Theaters. At the end of the event, the Karinthy Theater organized a surprise ceremony in Bodrogi's honor, where, in addition to his grandson and ex-wife Ági Voith, Róbert Koltai, Tibor Szilágyi, Dezső Straub and Andrea Balázs were also greeted, and he was very moved.

In the evening, the actor appeared with his left hand tied, because, as it turned out, he recently had an accident at the National Theater: he fell and broke one of the bones in his left arm.

"Unfortunately, I fell. I was coming down the stairs of the theater at the actor's entrance, when my heel caught and putty, I was already on the ground. This happened about ten days ago," said the 89-year-old actor, who was immediately taken to a doctor.

"They examined me thoroughly, and it turned out that one of my bones was cracked," said the actor, who added as an explanation: he was trying to protect himself during the fall, so he palmed down with his left hand, but it hurt his bone.

"Since then, my hands have been tied. I don't know how long I have to wear it like this yet, the doctor will tell me later. The point is that I'm fine, it's just a small accident, from which I'll soon recover," he stressed.

And the actor cannot be deterred from work by this inconvenience either, he works anyway.

Tomorrow, the audience will be able to see him in the role of Sultan Sülejmán in the National Theater's Egri cszillagok play. According to him, no one will notice his injury on stage.

Gyula Bodrogi has already proven countless times that an illness or injury cannot stand in the way of him working. And in the last three years, he's had a lot of trouble. He first had an accident at work in 2021, falling from a podium during a theater rehearsal and cracking his ribs. Three months later, he had to undergo a life-saving operation due to an abdominal hernia, and in the spring of 2022, his lungs became wet, and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he was placed in the intensive care unit. However, Bodrogi recovered well and returned to work at the end of the summer, and has been working ever since.
