You can vote by mail, but you need to register in advance.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sends a letter to Hungarian citizens living outside the European Union who do not have a Hungarian address. In it, he draws their attention to the European Parliament elections on June 9 and encourages them to exercise their right to vote, the Government Information Center (KTK) announced on Wednesday.
Hungarian citizens who do not have a Hungarian address and live outside the territory of the European Union can cast their vote in the European Parliament election by mail, but
this is only possible after prior registration.
The KTK reminds: if someone has previously registered for postal voting in Hungarian elections and voted in this form, their registration remains valid.
At the same time, those who have not yet participated in postal voting can register for the June election by 4 p.m. on May 15, 2024 at the latest and request to be included in the register.
The application can be submitted electronically on this page or by post, or in person or by authorized delivery at any embassy/consulate general of Hungary, reads the announcement of the KTK.
