The State Secretariat for Health of the Ministry of the Interior, together with the Hungarian Association of Patient Organizations (BEMOSZ), is announcing a tender with a budget of one hundred and sixty million forints for the operational support of healthcare social, civil and non-profit organizations.

According to BEMOSZ's announcement sent to MTI on Friday, it was provided from the central budget

the aim of the support is to better enforce the prevention approach, as well as to improve patient cooperation and the health awareness of the population in general.

It was highlighted: civil and non-profit organizations in Hungary that comply with the relevant legal requirements, which were legally registered before December 31, 2020 and have continuous public benefit certification, can participate in the tender. The announcement excludes for-profit and state- or municipal-maintained organizations and institutions.

    The support is pre-financed, non-refundable, with 100% support intensity. This means that there is no deductible, and the winners will receive the entire amount won as a subsidy advance, in one sum, with a subsequent reporting obligation after the announcement of the results

The total available tender amount is HUF 160 million, and the minimum amount of support that can be applied for is HUF 500,000.

Who can apply?

Pursuant to the call for tenders, organizations that

with the health, health education and prevention of families, children or young people; with chronic non-communicable diseases (so-called folk diseases: cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and locomotor, and mental diseases) that represent the greatest disease burden; they deal with helping people suffering from rare diseases or with other health prevention and patient and family support.

The grant application can be submitted for almost all "typical" patient organization activities - for example, health education and prevention, organizing patient education programs, patient information publications, conducting surveys, organizing conferences, health preservation programs, but you can also apply for the creation and development of a website, for example. The activities included in the grant application must be carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2024, the association announced.

    The deadline for electronic submission of grant applications is April 30.
