Who and how much can receive state support in the new home renovation program?

It was already known that the amount of these could range between 2.5 and 3.5 million forints. As a general rule, the amount of this depends on how the average income of the given district compares to the national level: where the income is lower, a higher non-refundable subsidy can be obtained.

An individual with a gross monthly income of over 130 percent of last year's average gross salary (HUF 742,560) can receive the largest portion of the loan regardless of their place of residence, i.e. the amount of the dream subsidy can be no more than HUF 2.5 million.

The applicant can cover the development costs with a larger amount from his own resources, but this does not change the amount of the loan or the non-refundable grant.

In the program, consent can be obtained for the following interventions or any combination of them:

• thermal insulation of the building's external boundary elements,
• window replacement,
• modernization of domestic hot water system,
• modernization of the heating system with a high-efficiency gas boiler, the associated chimney lining and the associated heat emitters.

It is expected that through the investments primary energy savings of at least 30 percent will be realized per building.

The Home Renovation Program represents an order book of approximately HUF 130 billion for domestic construction raw material manufacturers and contractors, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the sector and the economy in general. The organizer of the program is Magyar Fejlesztési Bank Zrt., the technical collaborating organization is ÉMI Építésügyi Minősésvernőrző Innovations Nonprofit Kft. Applications can be submitted at MFB Points of commercial banks.
