Despite the blockade, the National Conservatism Conference (NatCon) will continue on Wednesday.
Balázs Orbán, the prime minister's political director, announced this on Facebook. Meanwhile, Viktor Orbán posted late at night that the police would not silence him.
As we reported, Viktor Orbán's conference in Brussels was blockaded by the police on Tuesday. At the conference, former British Home Secretary Suella Braveman and former EP representative Nigel Farage, one of the vanguards of Brexit, would also have given speeches. Viktor Orbán later spoke in the European Parliament.
The journalists working on the spot were only interested in the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in the European Parliament building.
Several Italian newspapers reported on the situation when famous politicians arrived one after the other in the European Parliament building, the journalists were not interested in any of them, everyone rushed to the seventh floor to listen to the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Among other things, the Prime Minister said: no matter what ideas come to light regarding the EU migration package, the question of staying in the EU during the asylum procedure must be answered. This is the red line. If this point is not met, everything else remains unresolved.
Il Giornale asked Viktor Orbán whether former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi could be the next president of the European Commission, to which the Prime Minister replied that he did not know, but that he respects him and considers him a good person. According to the newspaper, this is a small but significant word, especially if it comes from a politician "considered far-right" like the Hungarian prime minister.
The Belgian court decided
Today, however, there was a serious turn in the case. The renowned Israeli historian, Yoram Hazony, shared the news on his social media page that the Belgian court had officially annulled the order to stop the conference. The organizers of the conference challenged the left-wing mayor's decree in court yesterday. This resulted in today's decision.
The National Conference on Conservatism (NatCon) has won its legal battle after a Belgian court overturned an order to shut down the conservative conference. Thank you ADF!
- wrote the conservative historian on his social media page.
Although there were signs that serious forces lined up and wanted a lot, the NatCon conference will continue, contrary to all other previous news, and not with just any speakers.
Viktor Orbán and Mateusz Morawieczki will also speak on Wednesday.
In this regard, Balázs Orbán wrote in a Facebook post that despite the blockade on Tuesday, the conference will continue on Wednesday.
"Victory!" - wrote the political director, then added that "the alliance of sovereignist forces is unstoppable".
Meanwhile, Viktor Orbán also posted late at night, he wrote:
The Belgian police blockaded the NatCon conference in Brussels. They seem to have had enough of free speech. The last time the police tried to silence him was in '88. We didn't allow it then and we won't let it now!
The case caused a great reaction, but the important events are only now beginning in Brussels
Several leading European politicians called Tuesday's blockade unacceptable, including Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
NatCon was banned by the mayor of Brussels for a few reasons
Even more important than the conference, however, is that a two-day, extraordinary EU summit will begin on Wednesday, at which many important issues may be on the agenda, including the topic of Iranian aggression against Israel and escalation in the Middle East.
