Artur Szőcs to speak on behalf of the future generation of actors at the farewell of the actor, who died on March 30 at the age of 85 The actor-director recalled that he met Géza Tordy as an actor, and then they worked together for 15 seasons.
Géza Tordy's voice was not only authentic on the radio, cinema screen and stage, but it was a voice that was sculpted and polished by many decades of hard work, so that it could be an opinion maker in both art and life, he emphasized.
He emphasized: Géza Tordy was deeply interested in theater, teamwork was important to him. He recalled that once after a gathering in the garden he asked him what he was doing, and the answer was: I was looking for the fire.
" On the stage, on the movie screen, in life, you were always looking for fire, and many of us are witnesses to the fact that you found it. Sometimes you let it languish, but in fact it was burning inside you the whole time ," he said.
Béla Ernyey said goodbye to Géza Tordy by recalling shared memories. He was a man with a huge heart and great style, he said of the artist, whom he met for the first time in 1963 and with whom he had the longest friendship of his life.
He emphasized: his longest friendship was with Géza Tordy, who was his only true friend among his colleagues. When he signed a contract with Austria in 1973, they were separated by life, but they always looked for the opportunity to stay in touch, he added.
On behalf of the Vígszínház troupe, actor Sándor Lukács said goodbye, recalling the play of his actor colleague and their joint works. As he said, Géza Tordy had great powers, great anger and great passions.
„I will never forget your laugh, you laughed so hard that even the walls around you shook”
- he said, adding: Géza Tordy was a man of extremes, both in anger and in love.
Acting is a smelly career, he said. The treasure is the message that we can pass on so that it remains in the souls as long as possible. "And you, Gésus, were a cathartic transmitter of these messages," he said. Géza Tordy was bid farewell according to the Roman Catholic ceremony, the ceremony was led by Richárd Korzenszky, the former priest of Tihany Benedictine Abbey.
