The Office for the Protection of Sovereignty is launching an investigation based on information that raises suspicions of a foreign financing attempt published in the Hungarian press.

it is starting the investigation based on the information that came to light last week in the Magyar Nemzet newspaper

As there is a suspicion that "the same circle of interests and network of contacts consisting of foreign and Hungarian actors" that supported the opposition prime minister candidate Péter Márki-Zay's movement before the 2022 parliamentary elections and "tried to influence the Hungarian elections by circumventing Hungarian laws ”, as well as taking an active role in several European Union campaigns, currently “targeting” the Hungarian elections again, the office announced.

Several criminal proceedings are ongoing against the members of the network of companies of the interest circle.

The investigation is launched by the Office for the Protection of Sovereignty to investigate the case.

It is known: the Office for the Protection of Sovereignty has previously received a complaint regarding Péter Magyar's possible foreign support.

István Tényi, known for his announcements in the public interest, turned to the office after Péter Magyar's girlfriend admitted that their demonstration was also organized by foreigners. Evelin Vogel spoke to Blikk about this. However, Origó found out that the recording was later deleted by Blikk, and then the video was republished with the part about foreigners cut out.
