In the last five years, things were imposed on us that were absolutely unnecessary and that would not have been possible based on the EU treaties.

Fresh ideas were expressed at the National Conservatism (NatCon) conference, and I think there is a good chance to leave this kind of "dictator Europe" behind us - said Enikő Győri, the Fidesz member of parliament in Brussels on Wednesday.

He expressed his hope that they will act based on the spirit and letter of the original EU treaties, work on competitiveness, so that Europe can once again function as a work-based society and maintain the standard of living that is so attractive to millions of people.

On the closing day of the two-day conference, the Fidesz representative took part in a panel discussion and gave his presentation the title Back to normality.

As he said, his dream is that "Europe will return to itself, leaving behind the last destructive five years, which caused damage to Europeans and the Hungarian people in every way."

"In these last five years, they imposed things on us that were absolutely unnecessary and that otherwise would not have been possible based on the EU treaties," he emphasized.

In his opinion, more and more people want Europe to be a belligerent in the war in Ukraine.

"There is no need for this. It is not a question of who is the aggressor and who is the victim, but what is important to us is how to achieve peace as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, I see that Europe is now forgetting about this," he declared.

Regarding migration, he said that the focus is no longer on curbing it, but that the member state that does not accept migrants must pay a fine.

"We are in the same place as nine years ago. This recipe didn't work then, and it won't work now either," he added.

According to Enikő Győri, woke is the only ideology that means "salvation" to Brussels, the only one it can accept.

He drew attention to the fact that three Brussels mayors tried to ban the National Conservatism conference.

"They don't accept basic freedoms. They call themselves liberals, while they have acted against freedom of speech, assembly and thought," said the EU member of parliament.
