We believe that there is no person with a healthy state of mind who would not have been shaken by Judit Varja's honest interview with Péter Hajdú, former Minister of Justice. The politician, who retired from public life, shared shocking stories about the abuse she suffered during the years she spent with her ex-husband, Péter Magyar, a self-effacing, narcissistic, up-and-coming politician who is strikingly narcissistic even for a layman. It would be a completely natural expectation that the left-wing women's rights organizations, which are otherwise so vocal, would speak out in the matter, given that it has become a topic that defines public life. That's why their listening and friendly communication is striking. In our article, we examine whether the relevant NGOs have reacted, and if not, what kind of activities they are otherwise engaged in, which makes the lack of a reaction a glaring rebuke.
OH NO
Nők a Nőkért Együtt az Erőszak Against Violence (NANE), which turns 30 this year, claims that domestic violence is not a private matter. That is why they consider it their task to spread knowledge on the subject. video they published five years ago , in which they talk about the first warning signs of intimate partner violence from the perspective of an abused woman. If only this had been compared with what Judit Varga said, it would be clear from that what could have happened in that relationship. In comparison, NANE published a post (of course, we appreciate that they at least spoke up, since it is a right-wing woman), as if the smart girl known from King Matthias' fairy tales had dictated to them . They stood up against violence, and they didn't. They spoke in a completely passive-aggressive tone, without describing the names of those involved, and of course, where did they leave the hole at the end? For the Istanbul Convention, which, if accepted, would not improve the situation of women in Hungary, but in exchange, gender ideology would be integrated into our legal system. We didn't expect anything else from NANE.
We would like to highlight a detail from the post right from the beginning:
„The topic of violence against women and children has unfortunately become a tool of party politics again in recent days. The goal of the NANE Association is to improve the situation of abused women and children in Hungary, and what is currently taking place is undeserving and harmful to their case .”
After that, it could even be cursing, asking "NANE to stand up for you". The fact that a former public figure shares with the public the ordeal that he had to go through every day in his home and in his family, while constantly receiving attacks from the left, is not a tool of party politics. What's more, the messiah-seeking opposition parties should be happy that, before they are disappointed again, the dark side of their latest hero has been revealed in a short time. The community of Hungarian voters has the right to know what kind of person that guy is, who until now has lived comfortably in good positions and collected several million forints a month, only to turn against his former camp when his way of life is no longer sustainable. Returning to NANE's post, we cannot decipher how they came to the conclusion that it is unworthy and harmful to the situation of abused women and children that a former Minister of Justice comes forward with her story and directs even more attention to the topic of domestic violence. One of their arguments is that other women don't get as much attention - to which we would only reply that they don't need attention, but help and especially courage to leave an abusive relationship. We believe that Judit Varga has done a great service to this cause with her recent interview and the many new Victim Support Centers established during her ministry - perhaps more than NANE has done in 30 years.
" Society often does not believe in women, or if it does, it blames them ." This is included in the article detailing the basic principles of NANE. Yet it seems to us that this principle only applies if the victim is a left-wing woman. In the case of Judit Varga, we believe that the association applies a double standard. Why? To get an answer, it is enough to look at the website of the association: since 1994, their official supporter is the Open Society Foundation. We have no more questions.
PATENT
The Society Against Patriarchy (PATENT) basically dealt with the topic of violence against women and children, however, as they write about themselves in the NANE brochure (that is, PATENT):
In 2010, as a result of worrying state trends, we began to deal more seriously sexual and reproductive rights and health , especially the protection of the right to . This is how we became the only human rights organization in the country approaches and protects reproductive rights with a women's rights and feminist approach .
So now they are more busy with abortion, but this is not the only topic that binds their energy.
Like their closest partner, NANE, they responded to the Frisbi TV interview in a post , but the style was no different. PATENT also did not mention Judit Varga's name and called what is happening in the public unworthy. Then they launched an attack against the government:
„…Feminist organizations in Hungary have always operated against the grain, the movement was driven by women's solidarity and dedication. The Patent Association is no exception. The power of this women's solidarity fueled our work even when they were branded as foreign agents, even when they launched a full-scale attack on the Istanbul Convention - and on feminism in general .”
Well, our comments are not much different from what was done on NANE's post. We would add that they ask for it in vain, they are indeed foreign agents. Their supporters include the Open Society Foundation on their website, but other organizations belonging to the Soros network also appear, as do their partners. About a bird's feather, NGO financier...
NOT
In the still running category, we have to mention the Hungarian Women's Advocacy Association (NÉ). It didn't even get as much from them as from the other two mentioned organizations - at least they commented on the topic in their own destructive way. post on Women's Day, March 8, before the outbreak of the scandal , in which it was written:
" Today, tomorrow and every day, we must act together to end violence against women and girls. On this Women's Day, we stand in solidarity with the millions of women who are victims of violence and call for the immediate adoption of the EU directive on ending violence against women ."
However, when they should have specifically stood up for a woman who suffered domestic violence, they did not. I wonder why? Well, it can be explained that President Réka Sáfrány completed his studies at CEU's gender department. Between 2003 and 2005, she participated in the researches of the CEU Center for Public Policy Sciences dealing with gender equality policies and the situation of convicted women.
In summary, it can be stated that the left-wing "women's rights" organizations belonging to the Soros network would have had the opportunity to show that they are really concerned with the situation of women and the prevention of domestic violence. Instead, we see that they choose who they want to help on an absolute ideological basis - even with just a support post. What's more, if it wasn't enough that they let down a female colleague because of her political beliefs, they want to use the topic that came up in the public discourse to promote the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, referred to as the Trojan horse of gender ideology.
