It seems that the biggest humanitarian action in Hungary's history does not matter, the Ukrainians like us the least among the countries to the west of them.
The Razumkov Center conducted a survey on the attitude of Ukrainians to foreign countries, and most respondents preferred Canada, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, France and Estonia, UNIAN reports .
Among the countries to the west, Hungary finished last in the survey, with 63 percent of respondents having a negative attitude towards their neighbor.
Previously, László Lehel, the president and director of the Ecumenical Aid Organization, said that Hungary is at the forefront of helping Ukraine - by the way, this is the largest humanitarian action in the country's history.
He recalled that they were just visiting the buildings, looking for local leaders to ask what they could do to help, when suddenly a mother came with her child. He knew everything in English, he pointed to the bombed-out house behind him, that they lived on the third floor of it.
"They asked if we were on a flight. I said, we came from Hungary, we want to help with new kindergartens, schools, food, hygiene equipment. At that, the little girl reached into the bag they had, took out a chocolate and handed it to us, thanking us for being there. It brought tears to our eyes"
said László Lehel.
