Átlátszó, an NGO that carries out so-called investigative work and is financed with significant sums by the "prominent" entities of the Soros network, regularly publishes statistics on the results of press trials of various media products. However, the organization "interestingly" now publishes annual reports with less enthusiasm about what proportion of procedures are initiated based on the information obtained through the data request mechanism - supported by György Soros - which floods the public sector to an unjustified amount (several tens of thousands) and consumes significant taxpayers' money. but what is even more important, what percentage of them end with a legally binding judicial determination of the assumptions against state bodies – serving left-wing party interests – the management of the CÖF-CÖKA writes in its announcement.
CÖF-CÖKA recognizes the constitutional fundamental right of freedom of expression and the press as a prerequisite for democracy, and declares that these fundamental rights can only fulfill their democratic purpose by respecting the constitutional and legal limitations that prevail during their exercise.
Also based on the principles of civility, we firmly believe that, in order to ensure the transparency of public affairs and the use of public funds, citizens have the right to access information of public interest from any state, local government or other body or institution performing public duties in Hungary.
At the same time, we believe that this constitutional right can only be exercised in good faith, in accordance with its purpose, which does not include the intentional and unjustified burdening of the capacities of the state sphere, in order to serve the interests of the political left without a meaningful program or ideas.
For this very reason, our present announcement can be safely regarded as an invitation to Átlástzó that, following the usual analysis of press lawsuits involving media products, in similar detail
present the annual breakdown of the success rate of court proceedings initiated on the basis of information obtained during public interest data requests related to the organization.
All of this would also provide an adequate opportunity for Átlátszó to clarify its statement in its financial report - which arouses suspicion in connection with the purpose of the data requests - that it transfers the experiences related to its activities to international civil and other organizations in the framework of cooperation.
