Hungary is a conservative island in the European progressive liberal ocean, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at the CPAC Hungary conference in Budapest on Thursday.
At an event organized by the Center for Fundamental Rights, Viktor Orbán emphasized: Today, Hungary has a reputation in international politics, which is unusual, since it is a country of ten million people with a modest army and a moderate GDP.
He believed that perhaps the most interesting thing is that while "the whole of Europe was flooded by a progressive liberal ocean", here "miraculously, a conservative island remained, an island of difference, which defies the liberal tide, the Brussels climate and the Washington hurricane". .
Moreover, he not only defies, but survives, even thrives, even succeeds, even wins, and wins again and again, he added.
He emphasized: the CPAC event in Budapest is a conservative conference in Europe that they do not want to ban, whose organizers are not threatened, and the police are not called to, as happened last week in Brussels.
The year 2024 is not the year of theory, but of practice: there will be elections all over the world and these must be won, the prime minister reminded, emphasizing that these elections coincide with major world political and geopolitical trend reversals.

He pointed out: the progressive liberals feel the danger, the replacement of the era also means their replacement, the end of the progressive world spirit. That is why they are determined to do everything, they do not shy away from anything and now they are still in power, they are dangerous opponents, they have no moral concerns, he added.
They are in power and they don't hesitate to use their means, if necessary they will use the state bodies, said Viktor Orbán, who said that in the past it was the communists, now the progressives, who in five steps get there to make the state bodies a tool of oppression.
This year, we can close an inglorious era of Western civilization, the world order based on progressive-liberal hegemony, in order to replace it with a sovereignist world order, emphasized the Prime Minister, adding:
the world order based on progressive-liberal hegemony has failed because it has brought wars, chaos and unrest, a collapsing economy and confusion to the world.
His followers proclaimed that their task was not to represent the people, but to implement their own ideals, he said, adding that the world was divided into democracies and autocracies, and they claimed that their role was a crusade against autocracies.
The supporters of this old world are still sitting in Brussels, and although it is not my business to interfere in American domestic politics, I am afraid that they are also sitting there in Washington, he warned.
"This year, we are undertaking to drive them out of there. Let the age of sovereignists finally come, let's return to the peaceful and safe path that made the West great!" said Viktor Orbán.
