From April 28 to 30, those interested are welcome with workshops, a performance in the theater of movement, dance demonstrations, joint dancing and film screenings.
Dancer-choreographer Anikó Zaiba, one of the main organizers of the event, reported on the details of the event.
On April 29, we celebrate the World Dance Day, and in Csíkszereda, this special occasion is being celebrated for the fifth year. There was also huge interest in the programs of the past years, and this year the organizers prepared an even more colorful offer: for three days, life in the city will be about dance.
Anikó Zaiba, one of the main organizers of the event, told us that this year they put a lot of emphasis on adding as many novelties as possible to the program offer. As a result, the event was expanded with a film screening and a performance: on Monday from 5 p.m. in the main hall of the Csíki Theater, the motion theater performance Sin Seen will be shown, and on Tuesday from 7 p.m. the documentary Moving Stories will be shown in the Csík Cinema.
The list of performers is also quite colorful, as the participants will include representatives of Tóth Larisa Dance Studio, Géza Vámszer Folk Art School, Csíki Salsa Club, Hargita National Székely Folk Ensemble and Bachata Life dance groups, and the event will be hosted by Elite from Székelyudvarhely Dance Company and the Love to Dance dance group from Sepsiszentgyörgy.
The goal of the event this year is to let those interested get to know as many dance styles as possible, thereby popularizing the genre. Anikó Zaiba believes that the experience of the past years shows that the Csík community has a need for movements like this, since every time you see that all age groups, from the youngest to the oldest, are represented in the programs and participate in the joint dances.
