The locations that can be visited are changed from time to time, so they can always provide new sights and experiences for guests who return to the event several times.
Zoo secrets, behind-the-scenes experiences, up-close sloths, armadillos, rhinoceroses and giraffes. This and many other interesting things are offered at the special evening walks of the Capital Zoo and Botanical Garden, during which, with the help of the animal keepers, those interested can take part in the world behind the scenes of the zoo, which is relatively less known to the general public.
Guided evening walks are organized by the zoo between May 16 and September 26. The evening walks start after the garden's regular opening hours, usually at 6:30 p.m.
The participants are guided in smaller groups into the world behind the scenes by specialists who know the zoo well and have decades of experience.
Behind-the-scenes visits to a dozen different locations and animal houses are organized within the zoo, and three locations are visited as the main program during an evening walk.
The offer is changed from time to time, so they can always provide new sights and experiences for guests who return to the event several times.
Among the locations visited on the evening walks are, for example, the veterinary surgery, the feed kitchen, the back garden, the shark school caretakers' treatment area, the Poison House, the rhinoceros and elephants' residence, the Wildlife Rescue Center and the Australian House. In the giraffe loft, you can get to know the giraffes from head height, and in the Pálmaház, participants of the walks can meet sloths and armadillos up close.
At individual stations and animal shelters, the animal caretakers working there introduce the public to the animals entrusted to their care and the secrets of working with them.
Tickets can be purchased on the institution's online ticket purchase interface, and until May 13, the zoo is also announcing a discount advance purchase promotion for the program.
