The Ukrainian president invited Viktor Orbán to the peace summit in Switzerland.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi posted on X about his telephone conversation with Viktor Orbán, during which he invited the Hungarian Prime Minister to the peace summit in Switzerland.
In the past 24 hours, Zelenskyi has discussed this with the heads of state and government of several countries: according to the plans, the peace summit will be held on June 15-16, where the leaders of up to 100 countries can be there, Mandiner wrote with reference to hvg.hu.
The Ukrainians do not invite Russia, but they would give China a role in the development of the peace plan.
Zelensky now emphasizes that the Hungarian position is important for his country.
He added: he emphasized to Orbán during the conversation that good neighborly relations with Hungary and increasing trade, energy and logistics cooperation are important for Ukraine.
It turned out that they agreed with Orbán on the continuation of bilateral consultations.
Ukraine's accession to the EU was also discussed, said Zelenskiy, who said that it would serve the interests of both countries, but the post did not reveal whether the Hungarian Prime Minister accepted the Ukrainian President's invitation.
I had a long and focused call with Hungary's @PM_ViktorOrban and invited him to the Peace Summit. Hungary's position is important to us in terms of bringing peace closer and our shared regional security.
