War psychosis is increasingly taking hold among Western European politicians. Manfred Weber is already talking about a "European nuclear weapon".
War psychosis is increasingly prevailing among Western European politicians, and in the European Parliament election campaign, they are apparently trying to make as serious statements as possible on the pro-war side. The other day in the BR24 television program, for example
People's Party faction leader Manfred Weber spoke in favor of European nuclear weapons.
The German politician, the faction leader of the European People's Party, stated in the BR24 election interview that "we need a European nuclear weapon ".
He said that if French President Emmanuel Macron offers France nuclear weapons to Europe, it is "an offer from France that we have to talk about."
French President Emmanuel Macron recently said that
Today, if we want peace in Ukraine, we must not be weak, so we must see the situation clearly and say with determination, will and courage that we are ready to use all the means at our disposal to achieve our goal, that is, to prevent Russia from winning
said the French president. has been making constant declarations of war in recent weeks . He went so far as to not rule out the sending of Western troops to Ukraine, to the Russian-Ukrainian war, and he also mentioned France's nuclear weapons.
Manfred Weber has now said he is "disappointed" that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the German government have been "reticent" and that there has been no response to Macron's proposal.
Compulsory military service
In the program, Manfred Weber also talked about what he thought was the introduction of compulsory queues as an intermediate step and stated that
supports the introduction of a general compulsory service year.
At the same time, he also added that, in his opinion, it should be left up to the young people to decide what kind of service they perform, but it is important for young people to play a role. The CDU - of which Weber is also a member - at its party congress held at the beginning of the week, by the way, took a stand in favor of the "compulsory service year".
In the BR24 program, Katharina Schulze, head of the Green faction of the Bavarian state parliament, spoke about the fact that instead of mentioning nuclear weapons, the focus should be on joint defense procurement and closer cooperation in the field of the army, police, intelligence and cyber warfare.
At the same time, Stephan Protschka, the president of the Bavarian AfD, accused Weber and the politicians who support him of inciting war, and emphasized that
Peace only works through diplomacy.
