In Vértesszőlős, children under the age of 6 have been banned from the strawberry field, because the little ones throw strawberries, trample the plants, and, moreover, do their little and big things between the beds.
These were satisfied by Kata Tóth, the owner of the strawberry field in Vértesszőlős, who banned children under the age of 6 from the entire area of the family business.
The Vértesszőlős strawberry field opened its doors to customers on June 9. The price of the fruit has not changed since last year, but the policy even more so.
1,700 HUF for a kilogram of strawberries, says Kata Tóth. According to him, the season is unusual because they have not opened this early in any year. He added that they really like the fruit, quite a lot of people come to them, and as a result, some guests visited them today whose behavior was objectionable. There is nothing wrong with families with children arriving. Parental supervision is lacking in many cases. We entered. And we had to put an end to the anomalies. I think that with the ban we protect the fruits, other customers, children and our work
says Kata, who works in a family business.

He adds: it happened more than once that the children ran between the beds, did their small and big chores, trampled the plants, but it even happened that they threw strawberries at each other.
The minimum intake amount is 2 kilograms, and this also applies to children over the age of six. Children under the age of six are not allowed in the area. The 6-12-year-old age group is accepted with one adult per child, he added.
In addition, it has long been a rule - he continued - that we are unable to allow pets or small animals into the strawberry field, please arrive accordingly and take care of them. Unfortunately, we cannot allow children's toys, scooters, bicycles, pushchairs, stools, wheelbarrows, camping chairs, deckchairs into the area, we ask for your understanding
– he indulges in the details, but not accidentally. Because all of them have happened in recent years.
In the Vértesszőlős strawberry field, the rule was introduced after 30 years
There are those who absolutely agree with this strictness, saying that there will finally be order, and that the strawberry field is not a kindergarten, but there are those who oppose it. They, for example, those with large families ask for the innovation. Because, according to the rules, they can expect to spend HUF 10,000 more if they count on an extra adult for each child, to whom the withdrawal amount applies in the same way.
The family came to this decision after 30 years. The owner says that they have been working since February so that there will be strawberries in the area by the end of spring.
We cannot meet everyone's needs either in terms of collection or price
adds Kata Tóth. The situation could not be delayed any longer. He says that there has also been an example of a mother arriving with a 2-3-week-old baby, who left the child hungry and thirsty for hours between the beds, in a baby carrier in the hot sun.
