The settlement will represent Hungary at the European Village Renewal Award competition.
In the past few days, the counties of Hajdú-Bihar handed over the prizes of the Hungarian Village Renewal Award 2023 program in Egyek, in the framework of which 15 settlements received recognition.
Warsaw is the best
Varsány in Nógrád county won the first place in the Hungarian Village Renewal Award for the highest-quality implementation of village development, and the settlement will thus represent Hungary at the European Village Renewal Award competition.

At the event, a special award for rural development was presented to the settlement of Báránd.
At the event, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy handed over the certificate of ownership of the Hortobágyi Tisza Mente Nature Park, created in cooperation with the five municipalities. This increased the number of nature parks operating in Hungary to eighteen.
