According to reports on Wednesday evening, the Slovak Prime Minister is being kept under deep anesthesia after the operation.

Robert Fico is out of danger, Slovak Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba said on the BBC Newshour program about the state of the Prime Minister, who was assassinated by an attacker on Wednesday.

"He was seriously injured: one bullet penetrated his stomach, while the other hit a joint. He was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent surgery,” he said.

Taraba added that he was extremely shocked by what happened. "Fortunately, as far as I know, the operation went well. I hope that he will survive in the end, he is not in a life-threatening condition at the moment," he emphasized.

The head of the ministry accused the opposition parties of using "false narratives" and portraying Fico as a "monster", and in his opinion, these do not belong to the values ​​of democracy.

As is well known, prime minister Robert Fico was shot at the opening meeting of the Slovak government in Nyitrabány, the politician was transported by helicopter to the hospital and then underwent surgery. The operation proved to be successful, according to press reports, his condition was stabilized.
