In the on-the-spot report made in Bratislava, people on the street were asked about the assassination, and they either said what the Telex described, or they didn't.
The tension was palpable, but I didn't think that a Slovak would attack a Slovak - moreover, a politician," Telex published a report , in which it tends to convey its message beyond empty, empty words: what happened is only and exclusively the Slovak government's fault.
Quotes from the article
Several people do not want to comment, and one woman, for example, only speaks to us after we answer her no to whether "the Orbán media" .
Ergo: the Orbán media is lying, only Telex tells you the truth, it has the only, absolute truth.
...in his opinion, many people are indeed disappointed because "the government has not delivered what it promised" to the people. He sees that the tension has been felt for a long time, and now it has only intensified.
Ergo: violent action is justified, because during more than half a year of his government (prime minister since October 25, 2023) he has not fulfilled what he promised, let's move on...
According to them, Slovak society is divided into two poles, and they consider it completely impossible that the voters of the ruling party will derive anything from the assassination. "I'm afraid that the voters of the opposition will rather feel after the assassination that they should open up to each other. But hatred will continue to reign on the government side," says one of them.
Ergo: this is an amazing maximization of cognitive dissonance, as if in reality the attack was not on the prime minister, the head of the government, but on a top opposition politician. The government side hates, the government side attacks, the government side is responsible for everything, they are the BAD ones, and the opposition is the GOOD one who will approach (we hope this will not manifest itself in more shots), but the BAD government and its voters are unable to filter love from this.
"Whether they can work together would depend on the ruling party. But they would rather divide society even more in order to use the assassination to further suppress the opposition," says Renam.
Ergo: ditto, the government is solely responsible for the lack of cooperation, and this great deed (the assassination) will also be used by the miscreants to suppress the opposition. (Maybe if I shot them all dead…hmm?)
It mainly depends on two politicians whether the government and the opposition can get closer to each other: both are in the government coalition, one is Blaha, the other is the president of the far-right ruling party, the Slovak National Council (SNS), Andrej Danko.
Ergo: never mind, although the tendentious text is starting to get boring here, from blaming the victim to failing to take responsibility and self-reflection.
For example, Maria talks about how Fico "has always trusted that people love him, so he wasn't afraid" . Now, however, it depends on him and the government how to proceed. Daniele adds to this:
"We'll see how Fico reacts when he gets better. Does he want to continue on a better path or is he trying to get revenge.”
Ergo: we have reached the climax, the catharsis without catharsis, which after all that went down in the lead-up definitively establishes: Fico is the one who went on the WRONG path (who needs peace if it is possible to go to war), and after the GOOD and WISE and PERFECT entity with five shots the tapped on the nose, you can decide whether you are on the GOOD path or not.
Can we feel the soma magic?
The hollow clang of disapproval of armed attack aimed at the extermination of life, and the roar of real content.
The possessors of the only true knowledge and morality believe that compromise does not depend on two parties, for them, compromise is when the other person conforms to their inflexible ideology, which they believe to be the truth.
It can be, of course, but this is not called a compromise.
You don't need to know the depths of Slovakian domestic politics to be able to identify the phenomenon as a state of split consciousness, and unfortunately it is not unique: after the assassination of the Slovak Prime Minister, it also showed itself in our country, it is enough to look at the murderous rage pouring out of social media and reaching frightening proportions.
This social phenomenon can be described with many adjectives, but the first thing that comes to mind is that it did not grow up, or did not grow up with democracy. And if this is the zeitgeist, then the situation is worse than we thought, and maybe the example will be contagious - it seems that there is a need for further murder attempts.
