In the current European situation, it is necessary to try to preserve the sovereignty, independence and freedom of Hungary under all circumstances, the President of the Parliament declared on Wednesday in Nyíregyháza.
László Kövér explained at the public forum held in the local cultural center that it seems that the decades of peaceful and calm growth in Europe are over and dangerous times are coming, forces are converging against Hungary, which under normal circumstances no one would advise opposing.
Fourteen years ago, we set out on a path to do this, the speaker reminded.
The politician, who also holds the position of president of the national caucus of Fidesz, emphasized that in order for Hungary to remain Hungarian and for the nationally committed government to fulfill its promise made before the 2010 elections, it is necessary to "not bow to the will of others, not to swim with the mainstream". , as well as preserve the results achieved so far.
Europe and Hungary have never been faced with such a serious challenge, the European Union election has never had as much stake as it does now - the President of the Parliament spoke about this in Újfehértó on Wednesday evening, where László Kövér said at a public forum entitled The Stake of the Election: Peace or War , "we have to be better at mobilizing, persuading, and arousing responsibility" than the opposition.
The president of the Fidesz national committee recalled that in 2010, a serious turnaround took place in Hungary, and after the clean-up and stabilization, ten years followed when the country's economic situation improved year by year, people were in a better financial position, the value of pensions increased and the family income positions of earners.
The President of the Parliament listed at length the Orbán government's measures, highlighting the globally recognized family policy, the changes in national politics and the policy of opening up to the East.
According to László Kövér, many people do not like the fact that Hungary "dare to articulate its interests in an independent voice", as well as the fact that "they are able, willing and dare to argue for peace, to stand on the side of truth".
The election on June 9 is also about whether "the greater part of the world can influence the pro-war part of Europe", and to this end, all means will be seized, the Speaker of the House emphasized, and then asked the question:
"Should we let others put our results at risk by dragging us into the war", or can we remain worthy of our historical predecessors - from János Hunyadi to the heroes of 1956 - and pull the trigger in the right place.
