In his post, Péter Szijjártó highlighted: "Hungarian victory in Zentá, Topolya and Magyarkanizsa in the Serbian municipal election! Well done, VMSZ! Well done, Bálint Pásztor!"
On Sunday, voting was held in Belgrade and in those settlements in Serbia where there was no election on December 17.
The governing Serbian Progressive Party tried everywhere to start with a coalition list, putting as many parties as possible on its side, but so did the part of the opposition that wanted to participate in the contest.
Bálint Pásztor, the president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VOM), expressed his hope that many people will exercise their right to vote, and that people will appreciate the work that VMSZ has done in Szabadka and the surrounding settlements in the last four years, and that they will realize that in order to preserve the city's built heritage, this party has done the most in the past period. He reminded that the VMSZ was started independently in 23 Vojvodina settlements inhabited by Hungarians.
The minimum goal of the VMSZ was to preserve the mayoral seats in the municipalities in which this party has been the mayor for the past four years: Magyarkanizsa, Zenta and Topolya. This result was achieved.
