A vigil will be held in memory of the actor and singer Kátya Tompos on Friday from 8 p.m. in Budapest, in the Várkert Bazaar.

As an event of the Juhász Anna Irodalmi Szalon and Róbert Hrutka, friends and admirers of Kátya Tompos can say goodbye to Kátya Tompos in the Neo-Renaissance garden of the Várkert Bazar at the commemoration announced on Facebook.

The organizers ask those coming to the vigil to bring a candle and, if possible, colorful flowers in memory of Kátya Tompos.

Tompos Kátya Jászai Mari and Junior Prima prize-winning actor and singer died at the age of 41 on Friday, May 31, after a long illness.

A collection, a charity auction, a concert, and a gala evening were also organized to finance the artist's medical treatment abroad His family wrote: it meant a lot to him that upon hearing of his illness, the country moved as one person and expressed its support in some form, this love gave him strength and filled his last weeks with hope.

Kátya Tompos was born on March 13, 1983 in Budapest. Between 2001 and 2005, he studied operetta-musical at the University of Theater and Film Arts, in 2005-2007 he was a member of the József Attila Theater, and then in 2007-2008 he played in the Bárka Theater. He was a member of the National Theater between 2008 and 2018. He played the main role in several films, was seen in Valami Amerika 2 (2008), Poligamy (2009), Brick Walls (2010), Nőm, nejem, cjajom (2012), Coming out (2013), Valami Amerika 3 (2018) and in the film Most van most (2019).
