China has indicated that they will not participate in the conference in this form either, so its effectiveness is doubtful.
So far, ninety countries and organizations have indicated their participation in the Ukraine conference in Switzerland, which could pave the way for the establishment of peace, the Swiss government announced on Monday.
Russia was not invited to the event, but Moscow announced that it does not even want to participate in the summit because it considers it an unnecessary waste of time.
At the same time, the Swiss government stated that, in its opinion, Russia should also participate in the peace process.
The purpose of the Ukraine conference, scheduled for June 15 and 16, is for participants to "jointly define guidance" on how to engage Ukraine and Russia in a future peace process, according to the statement.
In January, at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Switzerland agreed to host the summit.
China will not participate in the summit either.
Nuclear security, food security, freedom of navigation, and humanitarian issues, including the issue of prisoners of war, are also planned to be discussed at the meetings, said Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
Swiss President Viola Amherd recently stated that they want to create a platform for dialogue with the summit, and that the first step in this is to discuss how to create peace in Ukraine, and that they would also like to sit down with Russia in the future.
