Hungarian border guards detained dozens of people.
A black GAZ-66 truck with military license plate broke through the Ukrainian-Hungarian state border in Transcarpathia. After that, the Hungarian border guards announced the detention of 32 Ukrainians.
Vitalij Glagola, a journalist from Transcarpathia, reported on the incident on his Telegram channel. According to him, the incident happened on Sunday, June 9, on the section between Kaszony and Nagybégány (Velika Bijhany).
The car was later found on the Hungarian side, in the area of Barabás, but all the passengers had already left it. The Hungarian border guards later announced the detention of 32 people.
The President of the Ukrainian State Border Service, Colonel Andriy Demchenko, said that all necessary checks are currently being carried out in connection with the illegal border crossing of a group of people by vehicle at the Munkach branch.
Demchenko added that the Ukrainian border guards have detained several persons who may be involved in illegal human trafficking.
Quoting the colonel, Ukrainska Pravda reported that during the inspection it was established that the car probably did not belong to military formations.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the Hungarian side has not yet handed over the detained citizens to Ukraine.
