As is known, a Transcarpathian soldier with Hungarian roots died in the Ukrainian-Russian war. The death of the 29-year-old sailor Sándor Kis was caused by the impact of a rocket.

Bors found the widow of the heroic dead, Mária, who told the paper that she considers it important that the whole world learns about Sándor's story.

He was in the Crimea during the Russian occupation. He didn't take an oath. He has served in the Ukrainian army for ten years. He was a member of the anti-terror squad. He was active in the town of Ochakov, Mária told the newspaper. My husband considered the military his vocation. He sacrificed his life for his country.

"We spoke to him a few minutes before the rocket attack.  When the explosion occurred, I tried to call Sándor on the phone, but I couldn't. At the time, I still thought there was no field force, nothing could have happened to him," said the widow.

However, the woman was not let down by the fact that her husband would not report to her after such a battle, so she contacted the army. They looked at the list containing the names of the dead. Sándor was not on it. "They sent me to the hospital for the wounded. My husband was not treated in the emergency room. When that came out, I had to go down to the morgue. Twelve dead lay there, including women.

"I looked at the lifeless bodies and discovered Sándoré among them. His face was barely recognizable, but the name tag on his chest remained intact. This cleared up all my doubts. My husband died," said the woman. Mária believes that Sándor's sacrifice is not in vain.
