The fight for the position of mayor in Budapest is tight, so far 98.97 percent of the votes have been processed, according to

Dávid Vitézy is on 47.49 percent with 368,032 votes, and the reigning mayor Gergely Karácsony is on 47.52 percent with 368,248 votes, while András Grundtner (Mi Hazánk) took third place with 5 percent.

According to data from the National Elections Office, 23,909 ballots were invalid in the mayoral election, which is an extremely high number. Referring to this, Dávid Vitézy announced at his press conference held at dawn on Monday: it is likely that the votes will have to be counted again.
