Businessman Donald Trump Jr., the son of the former US president, spoke about the American elections and domestic politics, as well as world politics, in his lecture held at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) in Budapest on Thursday, in which he also praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Donald Trump Jr. said: American conservative circles see the Hungarian prime minister as a great leader who "puts Hungary first."

In the lecture and the discussion that followed, the businessman covered the American elections, the domestic politics of the United States, as well as world politics, including the conflict in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine.

He sharply criticized the administration of US President Joe Biden, pointing out that:

although the leadership in Washington - in its fear of defeat - does everything to silence dissent, more and more people who were not involved in politics before are losing their trust.

He added that the mistakes of the American leadership were illuminated by Donald Trump "decades earlier".

He called the investigations against the former American president completely baseless, and said that the investigation is just another message from the Democrats, according to which "they can do anything to anyone."

The businessman criticized several foreign policy actions of the Biden administration, including the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, which he called shameful. He said that the key motive of Donald Trump's foreign policy was negotiation, and he mentioned the talks with the Afghan Taliban and the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as examples, calling the negotiations successful.

he also condemned the Democrats' policy on immigration, which he says is nothing more than "importing a new voter base" because more and more Americans are disillusioned with the current Democratic leadership.

He cited Hungary as an example to be followed in relation to migration, where the government is trying to reduce illegal immigration, and praised the low level of crime indicators in Hungary.

"And the results speak for themselves," he added, referring to the results of the European Parliament elections in Hungary, which brought victory to the Fidesz-KDNP.

"American conservatives see Viktor Orbán as a great leader"

- he stated, adding: for the Hungarian Prime Minister, his own country comes first, and this approach would be the most important in the United States as well.

According to Donald Trump Jr., Hungary "could be one of Europe's last rays of hope."

The son of the former US president also said that

"conservatives are the real rebels these days" and most of the younger generations also recognized the importance of tradition.

“This is what is needed in the United States and elsewhere. This is the future of Western civilization," he declared.

Addressing the war in Ukraine, Donald Trump Jr. once again stressed the importance of negotiations with all parties and said that although some Republican politicians insist on supporting Ukraine, their views are often not shared by their own voting base.

He said:

if Donald Trump does not become the president of the United States, then this war "could last forever, because peace is not profitable."

Regarding the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, he stated: if Donald Trump were still the American president, there would not be such a tension in the region.

He expressed his hope that Donald Trump will succeed in winning the American presidential elections in November, but at the same time he said that he does not trust that the elections will be held fairly.

"Democracy requires trust, but the other side doesn't seem to care," said Donald Trump Jr.
