The well-known host spoke about his debate with Péter Magyar.

The host of ATV commented on his debate with Péter Magyar on Facebook. Egon Rónai admitted:

he did indeed make a mistake at one point, but he does not think he is responsible for the fact that the debate turned sour.

At the beginning of the week, a scandal arose from the fact that Péter Magyar withdrew from Egon Rónai's show after a collusion. Immediately after the incident, the presenter reacted to what happened in a comment and wrote: he regrets what happened, but they still expect Péter Magyar on their shows. (Péter Magyar has since announced that he would even be willing to debate with Viktor Orbán on ATV).

Péter Magyar had a tantrum after being humiliated in ATV (video)

At the same time, the topic of Egon Rónai's social media is still what happened in the ATV program. The presenter published a post about that evening's program on Wednesday, and commenters threw up the topic there as well.

For example, one of them wrote: "Dear Egon! Please listen to your viewers - you have a lot of meaningful comments on your page and many people like you because of your performance so far. Consider how to get out of this situation in an elegant and diplomatic way, because the owner of the ATV will feel at most that he will have less money in his pocket due to the decrease in the number of spectators, but your professional credibility may suffer a serious damage - this is already visible... In addition no one has yet answered why Dániel Bohár with the megaphone was the first to receive the video of Monday's interview - almost as soon as Péter Magyar left the studio, and the video was not even up on the website or YouTube channel - so presumably it was sent from the editorial office to him directly".

Egon Rónai responded to this in a comment on Friday afternoon and replied:

As far as I know, Bohár didn't get the recording from us - anyone can record it, they use it, they cut it, not always legally […]. About the viewer reviews: I accept that I could have started with congratulations. But if (someone) were to look carefully at the recording, I closed the discussion at the point when Péter Magyar says that he will read it: thank you, that's all I wanted - that's what I'm saying. And I'm not going on.

By the way, Péter Magyar suggested after the scandal that "Dániel Bohár had already edited a video and posted it on his page two minutes after I came out of the studio".

The president of MÚOSZ also spoke

The day after what happened, Mandiner turned to Ilona Kocsi, the president of MÚOSZ, .

When asked what the journalists' organization thinks about the fact that Péter Magyar withdrew from ATV's live show after the host confronted him with the fact that he was not telling the truth, Ilona Kocsi replied that MÚOSZ did not officially deal with this issue.

He then continued with his personal opinion. "I think a double mistake was made: It was wrong for Péter Magyar to leave ATV's live show. A public figure must tolerate and answer questions that are uncomfortable for him.

At the same time, no presenter can classify the behavior of the guest invited by the channel as »dog comedy«. This is offensive.

"It would have been appropriate if, after handing over the dossier, which contained Péter Magyar's ATV performances, which Péter Magyar accepted with the intention of studying later, they would have changed the subject," said the president of the organization.
