Fidesz believes that neither the Brussels committee nor any other European body can dictate who should think in Hungary and how Hungarian parents should raise their children, said the faction leader of the larger ruling party.

In the Vasárnapi newspaper, Máté Kocsis called it sad that statements are made against Hungary and the anti-pedophile law that are not true.

He emphasized: the law is only about the protection of children and the education of Hungarian children. The provision objected to by the committee also begins as

that it is forbidden to make various sexual contents available to people under the age of 18 - to put it more clearly, minors or children - and then list these contents - he explained.

He added: in particular, it cannot be prescribed, and no one can force parents to let their child receive any type of sexual propaganda or sensitization or information without their explicit consent.

According to the government's position, minor children must be protected from sexually inappropriate content in the media and on the Internet. In addition, educational lectures for minors can only be given by persons and organizations with the appropriate qualifications after the clear consent of the parent and with the content that the parent has previously learned about, stated Máté Kocsis.

According to him, it appears that the Soros networks are active on the subject. While the elder Soros incited European public opinion against Hungary in connection with migration, his son is doing the same in connection with the child protection law, he said.

The leader of the faction noted: it would also be possible to expect the leaders of the EU or the Dutch Prime Minister to know the law they are talking about.

We could have thought that the fact that children must be protected from content inappropriate for their age is based on a public agreement that can be classified as European values, said Máté Kocsis.

He stated: the law is only aimed at this, and at strengthening the prerogatives of parents regarding the education of their own children.

He said: the anti-pedophile and child protection law is in line with the EU charter and does not violate anyone's rights, as it does not apply to adults.

In his opinion, it is an unsustainable position from the critics that they want to deprive parents of this right, and that they claim that it is legitimate to propagate sexuality in any way to children as young as 5-6 years old. This is not objective information or clarification, but the publication of age-inappropriate content, he emphasized.

He added: this is not a matter of freedom, and the transmission of violent LGBTQ propaganda to children is limited by Hungarian law, while at the same time strengthening the rights of parents.
