Gergely Őrsi, II. The district's reviving mayor is leaving the Socialists, according to his own admission, his party is Buda.

Gergely Őrsi will soon leave the MSZP, but at the same time, he does not plan to continue his political career in another party.

As is well known: Gergely Őrsi won the II. district mayor election. 24.hu conducted an interview with the mayor, in which the left-wing politician stated:

he does not believe that party politics has a place and makes sense at the municipal level.

To the question of what was the reason for this large-scale victory, he answered the following:

I truly believe that a large-scale victory never depends on the opponent. It's more about paying attention to the locals, listening to them, taking care of them. In five years, we managed to create an accessible local government, which actually deals with the problems, concerns, and development needs of the people living here, and does not waste its time on party political battles."

Őrsi said that based on the feedback, he was able to get many Fidesz voters on his side, which "is simply because when running the district, we don't look at who is right-wing, who is left-wing, who is in the opposition, who is pro-government, but that if someone has a problem, their proposal , then we will listen and solve it."

According to Őrsi, there is only one secret to this: "We do not bring party politics into the local government. It seems that this is perceived and appreciated by the people living here."

The mayor added to all of this that this must also be proven, i.e. he himself consciously kept himself away from national or "Budapest political battles."

At the same time, he announced: the idea of leaving party politics has long been ripe for him, so he will soon leave the MSZP.
