Irina Farion, an extreme anti-Russian fighter for the use of the Ukrainian language, who wanted to break the jaws of all Russian speakers, was shot in the temple in Lemberg (known as Lviv in Ukraine).

The 60-year-old ex-parliamentary representative died after being transported to the hospital. The authorities are treating the case as an assassination attempt. Originally a linguist, Irina Farion was best known for her campaigns to promote the Ukrainian language and against the use of the Russian language.

In 2012, he was elected to the Kyiv parliament as a candidate of the far-right Svoboda party, and then worked in the Lviv regional council.

In 2018, during the war against the Donbas separatists, he called for the jaws of all Russian speakers to be broken, but after the Russian invasion, he also spoke out against the Russian-speaking fighters of the far-right Azov regiment defending Mariupol.

For this reason, they even took action against him at the Lviv university where he taught, and even organized street demonstrations because of his manifestations in the city, otherwise considered the center of Ukrainian culture.
